The Television Chat Show the "Beat Goes On" was born from the ashes of the Phoenix Hour, the Babyboomer chat show, which screened on a weekly basis 55 times on Triangle Television between June 2001 and December 2002
The show received great praise in the December 2002 Listener, describing it as the "Best Kept Secret in Television" during 2002.

But as the year 2003 began, a name change had taken place...from the Phoenix Hour to AUCKLAND at 9.  This let us take advantage of the fact that the channel we were broadcasting on was  received only in the Auckland region.
(Triangle A regional UHF Frequency)
This gave us, the wonderful opportunity to concentrate on Auckland and Auckland alone, unlike the national channels who must cater for everyone from Northland to the Bluff..
25 shows later Auckland at 9 ceased production at the end of 2003.

Now all that has changed and that major change is: With the introduction of Stratos on Sky and Freeview in late 2007 a babyboomer chatshow could be created that would screen all over New Zealand.
Therefore a name change.  September 2008 saw the launch of the brand new, re born, re-invigorated babyboomer chatshow now called the"Beat Goes On".

Why the "Beat Goes On"?... Well let's consider the age question. Babyboomers!!! Us babyboomers still, I repeat still want to live life to the full. We still have dreams, mountains to climb, unfulfilled projects, books to be written, CD's to be made, marathons to run, in short the beat of life still goes on......... Hence our new title....THE BEAT GOES ON..... Please join us and help keep the beat of the Babyboomers in full swing....
